TOKYO, JAPAN – May 15, 2023 – Terumo Corporation (TSE: 4543) today announced that it will construct a new manufacturing facility for the Medical Care Solutions Company in the premises of the Kofu Factory located in Yamanashi, Japan. The total investment will be 52.2 billion JPY, and the construction will be completed in fiscal year 2025. Once operation starts, the new manufacturing facility will be utilized for the contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) business, as well as products related to peritoneal dialysis. In addition, the new facility will also provide additional spaces that allows the company to scale-up production to meet future demands.

About Terumo's CDMO Business
In addition, Terumo is now collaborating with Eisai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan) to co-develop a new drug-device combination product (autoinjector formulation) for the Alzheimer’s disease treatment that is being developed by Eisai.
The CDMO business is one of the growth pillars of GS26, Terumo’s 5-Year Growth Strategy that began in fiscal year 2022. To support the strategy, Terumo will strive to strengthen and optimize production capacity to meet customer demands globally.
