TOKYO, JAPAN - February 4, 2021 - Terumo Corporation (TSE: 4543) today announced that it will establish the 'DX Promotion Department' on April 1, 2021.

The DX Promotion Department will design a digital transformation (DX) strategy for the entire Terumo Group. It aims to drive "DX for business creation" that will heighten value proposition to customers, and expedite "DX for operation" to increase efficiency and level up the company's value chain.

Over the years, Terumo has worked on various projects that utilize digital technology, such as pharmaceutical infusion pumps linked with hospital IT systems and platforms to support heart disease treatments. The company has also advanced digitalization in its operations such as the global integration of ERP systems.

By establishing the new organization, Terumo will strive to achieve further growth, through transformation in both business creation and operation from a Group-wide perspective.
