TOKYO, JAPAN - March 23, 2020 - Terumo Corporation (TSE: 4543) has announced it will commit to supporting relief and recovery efforts from the Australian bushfire disaster.

In the wake of catastrophic weather events across Australia, particularly along the east coast of Australia, Terumo has made a commitment to support impacted communities and wildlife. Terumo believes in empathically linking people and actions consistent with the company's mission to positively contributing to society. In this context, Terumo Asia Holdings Pte. Ltd, Terumo BCT Inc., Terumo BCT Australia Pty. Ltd., and Terumo Australia Pty Ltd. have joined forces to donate USD100,000 to the Samaritan's Purse - Australia Limited and BlazeAid Inc in support of the wider Australian community in this time of need.

Samaritan's Purse provides disaster relief by supplying fire recovery kits to help families recover valuables and clear properties in the aftermath of bushfires. They also coordinate volunteer support in collaboration with locally led recovery programs, offering practical assistance to impacted regions.

BlazeAid Inc is a volunteer-based organisation that works with families and individuals in rural Australia after natural disasters. Working alongside rural communities, BlazeAid volunteers help rebuild fences and other structures that have been damaged or destroyed. These actions also provide emotional support to individuals grappling with significant loss and devastation, contributing to rebuilding communities and lifting spirits of those impacted.

In addition, Terumo associates in Australia have volunteered their time to contribute to the bushfire recovery effort. These include bush regeneration activities in an effort to combat the carbon emission of these bushfires and support the restoration of national parks and wildlife habitats. Terumo is also supporting Foodbank Australia Limited by sorting approximately 12.5 tonnes of food and goods for distribution to affected communities.

Finally, Terumo is offering support to wildlife organisations through the donation of medical products such as syringes and blood bags, to aid the recovery of injured animals and expedite the release back into the wild.

Terumo's mission is to contribute to society through healthcare. By working in connection with our communities and those in need, the company hopes to make a difference during this challenging time.
