1921	Sep.	The Sekisen Ken-onki Corporation is founded by a group of several medical scientists led by Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, with the intention of manufacturing the most reliable clinical thermometer possible in Japan.
1922	Feb.	The company introduces "Jintan Taionkei", our first clinical thermometer, for sale on the Japanese market.
1963	Jan.	We start production and sale of disposable syringes, the first ever production in Japan, entering into the field of disposable medical devices and equipment.
1964	Jan.	We start production and sale of disposable hypodermic needles, the first ever produced in Japan.
1969	Jul.	We start production and sale of blood bags, the first ever produced in Japan.
1971	Apr.	Terumo America Inc. (currently Terumo Americas Holdings, Inc.) is founded.
1971	May	Terumo Europe S.A. is founded in Belgium.
1973	Jul.	We start production and sale of intravenous solutions in soft plastic bags, the first ever produced in Japan.
1974	Oct.	We change our company name to Terumo Corporation.
1980	Feb.	We start production and sale of parenteral nutrient solution in soft plastic bags, the first ever produced in Japan.
1982	Apr.	We start production and sale of hollow-fiber oxygenators, the first of their kind in the world.
1982	Jun.	We are listed in the 2nd Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1983	Dec.	We introduce our digital thermometer, the first ever produced in Japan, onto the market. This event is followed by the complete temination of mercury thermometer production.
1985	Sep.	We introduce our angiographic catheter system onto the market.
1985	May	We are designated for listing on the 1st Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1988	Feb.	We introduce our peritoneal dialysis system onto the market, entering in to the field of home healthcare.
1995	Dec.	Terumo Medical Products (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. is founded in China.
1996	Jul.	Changchun Terumo Medical Products Co., Ltd. is founded in China.
1999	Jun.	We establish Terumo Penpol Ltd. in India as a joint venture, expanding our business in blood transfusion products.
	Jul.	We acquire the cardiovascular division of 3M Company ,and establish Terumo Cardiovascular Systems Corp. in the US.
		We start production and sale of plastic prefilled syringes, the first ever produced in Japan.
2000	Apr.	We start production at Terumo (Philippines) Corp. in the Philippines.
2001	Sep.	We acquire the home oxygen division of Sumitomo Bakelite Co., Ltd., and establish Terumo Medical Care K.K..
2001	Sep.	We acquire Ikiken Co., Ltd. (Japan)
2002	May	Transfer of dialyzer marketing operations from Terumo to Asahi Medical.
	Jun.	We construct Terumo Medical Pranex.
	Oct.	We acquire Vascutek Ltd. in the U.K., entering into the vascular prostheses business.
2006	Mar.	We acquire MicroVention Inc. in the US., entering into the field of endovascular coils for the treatment of cerebral aneurysms.
2007	Feb.	We open the east wing of Terumo Medical Pranex.
	Mar.	We acquire the tissue heart valve division of Kohler Chemine GmbH, expanding our operations related to vascular prostheses.
	Apr.	We establish Olympus Terumo Biomaterials Corp. in Japan, a joint venture with Olympus Corporation
	Aug.	We release magnetically levitated centrifugal left ventricular assist systems in Europe.
2008	Feb.	We release drug-eluting stents in Europe.
	Apr.	We start production at Terumo Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Vietnam.
	Jun.	We acquire Clinical Supply Co., Ltd. (Japan) to enhance our interventional systems business in the field of radiotherapy.
2010	Jan.	Terumo Americas Holding, Inc. is founded.
2011	Apr.	We release magnetically levitated centrifugal left ventricular assist systems in Japan.
	Apr.	We acquire CaridianBCT Holding Corp., a leading global provider in the blood transfusion industry.
	Apr.	We acquire Harvest Technologies Corporation, a leader in the development of point-of-care cell therapy.
	Aug.	Terumo (China) Holding Co.,Ltd. is founded.
