Interventional Treatment

Concerns the treatment of clogged or narrowed blood vessels from the inside by the insertion of a catheter. As this treatment technique places minimal strain on the patient’s body, it is used for endovascular treatment of various parts of the body, including the heart, brain, and legs.

Intra-vascular ultrasound system (IVUS)

Catheter for the treatment of coronary artery disease

A guidewire is advanced into the coronary artery and positioned across the stenosis.
A balloon catheter is advanced over the guidewire and then inflated at the stenotic area.
Lastly, a stent is placed to prevent restenosis.
